Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Sylmar

The Kennedy Cougars will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Sylmar Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Kennedy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Kennedy's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Van Nuys on Thursday. Diego Cervantes was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Sylmar hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Granada Hills Charter. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Spartans were the better team in the second half.

Sylmar's victory bumped their record up to 5-0-1. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
