For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Brennan and Holmes have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Bears walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Huskies. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Brennan got a great performance from Shepard Morris as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and not a single walk). Morris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Gabriel Davila was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Brennan's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Holmes, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
