Football Recap: Rkayzeon White and Kentrell James Pace Marianna Defense

Marianna had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it five. They fell just short of the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers by a score of 17-14. The game was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Marianna didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rkayzeon White and Kentrell James.

As for North Bay Haven Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points over those games.

Caleb Muszynski had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 294 yards and one TD, while also rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. A healthy portion of Muszynski's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Jackson Horne.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Marianna will head out to take on Leon at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Bulldogs will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.2 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Buccaneers will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
