Basketball Game Preview: Lehman Catholic Cavaliers vs. Milton-Union Bulldogs

The Lehman Catholic Cavaliers will take on the Milton-Union Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lehman Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They managed a 42-38 victory over Houston. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Wildcats are ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milton-Union). They blew past Riverside 64-41 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Milton-Union's win came from a few key players Lehman Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wyatt Kimmel, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Brumbaugh, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Milton-Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Milton-Union's victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Lehman Catholic, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Lehman Catholic strolled past Milton-Union in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 51-35. Will Lehman Catholic repeat their success, or does Milton-Union have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
