Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leto). They never let the Middleton Tigers get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Leto found their leader in sophomore Sanaai Taylor, who rushed for 37 yards and one TD, and also threw for 24 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Taylor also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending two passes.
Leto's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Middleton, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Leto will face off against Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 13.1 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
