Basketball Recap: Green Valley Skates Past Sunrise Mountain with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Green Valley). They breezed by the Sunrise Mountain Miners to the tune of 69-35 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Gators have posted since January 23rd.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamarcus Carter, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Magnus Siegel was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Green Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Sunrise Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Green Valley will venture away from home to square off against Palo Verde at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Palo Verde knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Green Valley likes a good challenge. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will welcome Chaparral at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
