Basketball Game Preview: Saint Thomas More Academy Griffins vs. Clinton Christian Couriers

The Saint Thomas More Academy Griffins will face off against the Clinton Christian Couriers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Saint Thomas More Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Benton HomeSchool on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Griffins came up short against the Bucks, falling 65-43. The Griffins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Noah Kloska, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. The game was his third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Kloska, who put up 12 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Clinton Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Benton HomeSchool, falling 59-31. The Couriers were down 46-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Saint Thomas More Academy will have to keep a close watch on Edmund Hull and Devin Nice, a pair of players who had a big impact on Clinton Christian's prior game. Hull went 6-for-11 en route to 12 points and six rebounds, while Nice had 12 points. Dominic Miller also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Clinton Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Saint Thomas More Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Saint Thomas More Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Clinton Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 59-51. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Couriers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
