Baseball Game Preview: Christian Patriots vs. Mira Mesa Marauders

For the second straight game, Christian will face off against Mira Mesa. The Patriots will face off against the Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Mira Mesa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Christian's victory against Mira Mesa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Marauders 3-1. Three seems to be a good number for the Patriots as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Wyatt Thomas looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Benji Molina, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Maximus Villalva was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Mira Mesa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.
