Basketball Game Preview: Skyridge Falcons vs. Lehi Pioneers

The Skyridge Falcons will face off against the Lehi Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Skyridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Lone Peak, who was ranked 16th at the time (Skyridge was ranked 18th). Skyridge took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lone Peak on Tuesday. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Lehi didn't have quite enough to beat Westlake on Tuesday and fell 49-47.

Skyridge will need focus on slowing down Cali Ashton, one of several Lehi players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Ashton a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelcee Rasmussen, who had eight points.

Lehi's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Skyridge, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 11-9.

Skyridge beat Lehi 58-45 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Skyridge repeat their success, or does Lehi have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
