Baseball Recap: Pequea Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Brandywine Heights Area on Friday, Pequea Valley came back down to earth. The Braves fell 6-1 to the Lancaster Catholic Crusaders on Monday. The Braves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Crusaders earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Pequea Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominick Burrell, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Burrell's first of the season.

Pequea Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lancaster Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pequea Valley will take on Annville-Cleona at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dutchmen have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Lancaster Catholic, they will challenge Lancaster Mennonite at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blazers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
