Basketball Recap: Alonso Takes a Loss

Alonso was the 72-67 winner over Strawberry Crest when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Alonso Ravens took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strawberry Crest Chargers.

It was another big night for Maximus Von Ancken, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards for Strawberry Crest. The dominant performance also gave Von Ancken a new career-high in blocks (four). Hunter Hall was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Alonso's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Strawberry Crest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Alonso has already played their next matchup, a 64-52 defeat against Plant City on the 17th. As for Strawberry Crest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-50 win against Riverview on the 17th.
