Basketball Recap: Faith Rosiere Key Part of Team Effort in Bruins Win

Belleview Christian hadn't done well against Dawson School recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Belleview Christian Bruins secured a 37-32 W over the Dawson School Mustangs. For the Bruins, this counts as revenge for the 37-20 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Belleview Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faith Rosiere, who posted six points along with 27 boards and four steals. Rosiere is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Harjas Thiara, who earned 17 points.

Belleview Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

When it comes to explaining why Dawson School lost, don't look at Lily Sullivan. Despite the final result, she had 13 points and five steals. Dawson School is 2-1 when Sullivan posts three or more steals, but 2-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodas Tewelde, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Belleview Christian's record now sits at 4-14. As for Dawson School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

When Belleview Christian and Dawson School next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Belleview Christian will take on Heritage Christian and their ten-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on February 20th. Meanwhile, Dawson School will try to stop Flatirons Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
