Basketball Recap: Tygarts Valley Comes Up Short

Tygarts Valley was the 49-28 winner over Notre Dame when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs fell just short of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 54-52 on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Tygarts Valley lost, don't look at Jacob Wamsley. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Wamsley has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Bell, who put up 12 points.

Tygarts Valley dropped their record down to 11-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Notre Dame, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Looking ahead, Tygarts Valley will head out on the road to challenge Harman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Tygarts Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Notre Dame, they will host Clay-Battelle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
