Baseball Recap: Navarre Comes Up Short

Navarre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the Milton Panthers. Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Panthers since on Monday.

Colton Deman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bo Shipley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jameson Rasmussen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Navarre's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Milton, they moved to 7-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Navarre will head out on the road to face off against Choctawhatchee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Choctawhatchee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Milton, they will be playing at home against Escambia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Escambia's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Milton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
