Basketball Game Preview: Stewarts Creek Red Hawks vs. Lebanon Blue Devils

The Stewarts Creek Red Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Lebanon Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Stewarts Creek sitting on seven straight victories and Lebanon on four.

Last Friday, Stewarts Creek didn't have too much trouble with LaVergne as they won 59-40. Given the Red Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Wolverines are ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lebanon hadn't done well against Cookeville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lebanon walked away with a 67-58 win over Cookeville. 67 seems to be a good number for the Blue Devils as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Lebanon's win came from a few key players Stewarts Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Naleiya Withrow-Walker, who went 7 for 13 en route to 21 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Ellie Beth McDonald was another key player, putting up 17 points and seven boards.

Lebanon's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Stewarts Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

Stewarts Creek might still be hurting after the 68-45 loss they got from Lebanon in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lebanon's Tiara Spencer, who went 8 of 13 to rack up 25 points and seven steals.
