MaxPreps 2014 Underclass All-American Girls Volleyball Team

Junior of the Year - Audriana Fitzmorris, St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.), 6-5 MH


St. James Academy had its streak of state titles snapped at six, but Fitzmorris had a monster year with 667 kills (6.5 average), 111 blocks and 217 digs as the Thunder got the runner-up trophy and finished 40-7. Fitzmorris also played on the U.S. Junior National team last summer. Fitzmorris was one of two juniors named to MaxPreps' All-American Team in mid-December.

OH - Gia Milana, Romeo (Mich.), 6-2
Committed to Maryland, Milana totaled 503 kills (5.8 with 58.8 kill percentage), 246 digs (3.1), 70 aces, 42 blocks and only 18 serve reception errors as the Bulldogs went 46-8-1 and captured Michigan's large school state title.

OH - M.E. Dodge, East Troy (Wis.), 5-10
There was no perfect season for Troy this year, but Dodge escalated her game to include 673 kills (6.5), 52 aces, 55 blocks, 434 digs (4.2) and 769 serve receptions. She was first team all-state. She has committed to Wisconsin.



OH - Emily Baptista, Hilmar (Calif.), 6-2
Named the Merced Sun-Star's POY, she's the Yellowjackets' go-to player and averaged 5.7 kills per set. She was named the Tri-Valley League POY for a second time and is a California all-state selection.

OH - Molly Haggerty, St. Francis (Wheaton, Ill.), 6-2
Haggerty led the Spartans to a 38-4 record and the Class 3A state title and slammed 381 kills with 152 digs, 53 blocks and 20 service aces while posting a .540 kill percentage. The 2014 News-Gazette All-State Volleyball Player of the Year, Haggerty was also the Illinois Gatorade State Player of the Year winner.

OH - Jac'cara Walker, P.K. Yonge (Gainesville, Fla.), 5-10
Walker guided the youthful PKY squad to the 4A state title and a 30-2 record. She totaled 364 kills (4.2 with a 52 percent kill ratio), served at 93 percent, had 272 digs (3.2) and 145 service points. She was named Florida's 4A Player of the Year. She has committed to Mississippi State.

OH - Isabelle Taylor, Darien (Conn.), 6-0
The Gatorade winner led the Blue Wave to a 25-2 record and the Class LL state championship when she slammed 304 kills (.508 kill percentage). Taylor amassed 179 digs, 169 service receptions, 37 blocks and 36 service aces.

OH - Khalia Lanier, Xavier College Prep (Phoenix), 6-2
Named Arizona's Large School Player of the Year last season as a sophomore, she led Xavier to a 37-4 season as a junior. She averaged five kills and four digs per set, and led the state semifinal team with 45 aces. She has committed to USC.

OH - Melanie McHenry, Speedway (Ind.), 6-2
One of the most prolific hitters east of the Rockies, McHenry led Speedway to a 26-9 record when she killed 798 (7.1) of her 1,485 attempts. She also had 79 aces, 78 blocks, 415 digs (3.6) and only 13 errors in 496 serve receptions. She has committed to Louisville.



OH - Sara Carr, Mountain Brook (Birmingham, Ala.), 5-11
Alabama's Gatorade winner, Carr led the Spartans to a 49-10 record and the Class 7A state title. Carr slammed 648 kills while recording 513 digs, 81 service aces and 48 blocks. A returning first team all-state selection, Carr was named the 7A State Tournament Most Valuable Player.

MB – Ronika Stone, Valley Christian (San Jose, Calif.), 6-3
Stone put up big numbers against some of the west's top teams in leading VCHS to a 26-13 record. She posted 575 kills (5.0), served 94 percent (47 aces), blocked 68 shots, averaged 2.4 digs and returned 269 serves.

MH - Mikayla Watson, Gunter (Texas), 5-11
Watson led Gunter to 37 wins when she killed 705 shots (6.0 average at 55.4 percent), served 69 aces (94.5 percent), blocked 92 shots, had 497 digs and received 306 serves.

MB - Sarah Langs, Lovejoy (Lucas, Texas), 6-3
The TCU pledge led Lovejoy to the Class 5A state championship, the school's sixth in seven years. Langs led Lovejoy in kills with 477 and 130 blocks. She was an all-state pick and was named District 10-5A's Blocker of the Year.

S - Mariah Evans, Lewis-Palmer (Monument, Colo.), 5-9
Though she played hurt, Evans was the table setter for the MaxPreps national champions, as she helped lead the Rangers to a perfect 29-0 season and state 4A title. She averaged 9.7 assists and found time for 183 digs, 36 blocks and 76 kills. She had a serving percentage of 93.1 and recorded 51 aces.

S - Mariah Pardo, Clear Creek (League City, Texas), 5-9
Pardo averaged 11.3 assists (1,498) to lead Clear Creek to a 42-5 season and a deep playoff run. She also totaled 96 kills, 23 aces, 43 blocks and 322 digs.



S - Caitlyn Floyd, Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 5-7
Floyd was the setter on the nation's No. 10 team and dished out 1,151 assists (12 per set) as her team won 47 of 49 matches and the New Jersey Tournament of Champions. She also served 78 aces en route to being named all-state.

S - Kristin Krause, Parkland (Allentown, Pa.), 5-9
Krause distributed 842 assists during regular match play and had 1,233 assists in all competitions. The all-state choice totaled 105 aces and a 92.0 serve percentage. Krause was named an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and District 11 first-teamer.

L - Savannah King, Bentonville (Ark.), 5-7
King led the Tigers to a 32-4 season and large school state title with 798 digs (6.8), 98.7 serving percentage and 464 serve receptions.

A-A - Kathryn Plummer, Aliso Niguel (Aliso Viejo, Calif.), 6-6
Plummer was a key reason the Wolverines won the CIF-SS D-IA title. Plummer had 244 kills, 34 aces, 123 digs and 472 assists. In the CIF-SS final against Santiago of Corona, Plummer had 23 kills, six blocks, 11 digs and 20 assists.

A-A - Jenn Wineholt, Parker (San Diego), 6-0
Known for her leadership, Wineholt quarterbacked the Lancers to their third-straight state title and ninth overall. She showed her versatility in the state title win with 28 assists and seven blocks. And in the semifinal match, she had 10 kills, 14 digs, six blocks and 30 assists. She has committed to Virginia. She was first team All-CIF San Diego Section as well as first team All-San Diego area.

A-A - Jenna Gray, St. James Academy (Lenexa, Kan.), 5-11
Gray was all over the court as the Thunder went 40-7 and earned second place in the state. Her numbers: 769 assists (7.3), 274 digs (2.6), 361 kills (3.6), 37 aces, 51 blocks and only seven reception errors.

Sophomore of the Year - Gabby Gray, Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.), 6-0 OH




Gray, Tennessee's Gatorade Player of the Year, led the Red Raiders to a 43-9 record and the DII-AA state championship. Gray amassed 605 kills, 354 digs, 71 service aces and 31 blocks. A MaxPreps Freshman All-American in 2013, she is a two-time all-state honoree and was named MVP of the DII-AA state final.

MH - Mariah Whalen, Newman (Wausau, Wis.), 6-1
Whalen finished with 831 kills and more than 1,500 attacks for Newman Catholic this fall, helping the Cardinals repeat as D-4 state champions. Along the way she had 53 blocks, 102 aces, 280 digs and earned all-state tournament honors and first team all-state honors. Whalen also is the Gannett Central Wisconsin Media's volleyball POY.

MH - Caroline Marsh, North Henderson (Hendersonville, N.C.), 5-10
Marsh averaged 6.7 kills, 1.5 blocks and 2.3 digs per set while serving 41 aces and returning 325 serves with just 31 errors as the Knights went 16-8. The all-state player was named the Times-News POY.

MB - Dana Rettke, Riverside-Brookfield (Riverside, Ill.), 6-7
Rettke, who has committed to Wisconsin, guided Riverside to 23 wins with 344 kills (3.7), 140 blocks (1.5) and 43 aces.

MB - Megan Cooney, Shawnee Heights (Tecumseh, Kan.), 6-4
Cooney helped lead Shawnee Heights to a third-place finish in 5A. On the year, Cooney registered 262 kills on 642 attacks and had 89 blocks. She also served 88 percent with 53 aces and had 167 digs. Cooney was also a first-team all-Centennial League pick and an all-5A state tournament selection.

MH - Ariel Dulaney, Bayside Academy (Daphne, Ala.), 6-0
Named Coastal Alabama's Player of the Year, Dulaney totaled 544 kills, 411 digs and 63 blocks as Bayside Academy won its 13th-straight state title.



OH - Grace Loberg, Geneva (Ill.), 6-3
Loberg led Geneva to a 30-win season and was named the Beacon's Player of the Year after killing 330 balls, plus 215 digs, 42 aces and 27 blocks. She has committed to Wisconsin.

OH - Meredith Norris, Corunna (Mich.), 6-2
Norris turned in a sophomore season that saw her post 754 kills along with 571 digs, 77 blocks and 97 aces in leading the Cavaliers deep into the playoffs. She set a state record with 53 kills in one match this season and has more than 1,500 kills in just two seasons.

OH - Leketor Member-Meneh, Lutheran South (St. Louis), 5-9
Member-Meneh averaged 6.95 kills per set. She also was strong defensively (296 digs) and helped lead the Lancers to a 20-9-5 record.

OH - Lexi Sun, Santa Fe Christian (Solana Beach, Calif.), 6-2
The Eagles may have won just 13 of 28 matches, but Sun had 340 kills, 235 digs, 36 total blocks and was the lone sophomore named to the All-San Diego Section Team.

OH - Brooke Botkin, Pearland (Texas), 6-1
Botkin, who has committed to USC, was honored all-state after leading Pearland to 41 wins. She slammed 606 kills (4.7) and 422 digs (3.3). She also received 511 serves.

OH - Kayla Lund, Flintridge Sacred Heart (La Canada-Flintridge, Calif.), 5-11
Lund recorded 566 kills (5.5), 54 aces, 50 blocks and 245 digs and 397 serve receptions as Flintridge Sacred Heart went 28-7 and deep into the playoffs.



OH - Claire Sheehan, Cambridge-Isanti (Cambridge, Minn.), 6-0
In just 58 sets, Sheehan recorded 504 kills (6.5), 393 digs (5.1) and had 391 serve receptions. Cambridge-Isanti won 27 matches.

OH - Athena Ardila, Weston (Mass.), 5-11
Ardila was the Wildcats' go-to player with 6.4 kills per set and 66 percent hitting. She also had 73 aces and 356 digs (4.0) as Weston was 19-5.

OH - Meghan McClure, Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.), 6-1
McClure was the only sophomore named to the CIF-Southern Section D-IAA All-Section Team. She led the Eagles to a 27-7 season and a deep playoff run.

S - Loryn Huffman, McComb (Ohio), 5-8
Huffman teamed with her All-American sister (Jenna) to lead the Panthers to the state finals and a 29-1 record as she set the state record for assists in a season with 1,110. She has also added 1,107 serve receptions and 243 digs.

A-A - Natalie Robinson, Mercer Island (Wash.), 5-11
Robinson led the Islanders to a 21-4 record and state 3A quarterfinals by averaging 10.8 assists per set. She also totaled 179 digs (2.0), 73 aces (95.1 percent serving) and killed 75 shots.

A-A - Sydney Hilley, Champlin Park (Champlin, Minn.), 5-11
An all-around threat who can play every position, Hilley was primarily a setter with more than 500 assists this season. She also led the Rebels in kills with 454 (5.0), digs with 315 (3.5), assists with 454 (5.0) and aces with 50. She has committed to Wisconsin.



DS/L - Jamye Cox, St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, Ohio), 5-3
Cox, who has committed to Michigan State, was named second team all-USA by American Family Insurance after leading the Arrows to a 28-1 season with 44 aces, 419 digs (4.7) and only 11 service errors on the season. She was also an all-state selection.

DS/L - Morgan O'Brien, Libertyville (Ill.), 5-5
O'Brien had 556 digs (5.9), 399 serve receptions and served at a 94.6 clip with 33 aces as the Wildcats went 37-5 and reached the state finals.

Freshman of the Year - Haley Warner, Fayetteville (Ark.), 6-2, OH

Warner recorded 507 kills, 172 digs, 129 blocks and 12 service aces while posting a kill percentage of .452 and leading the Bulldogs (23-12-2) to the Class 7A state final. A 2014 first team all-state selection, Warner, who was named the NWA's Newcomer of the Year, slammed a match-high 21 kills in a state final loss against Bentonville. Warner was the only freshman in the country to be named a Gatorade State Player of the Year.

OH - Garrett Joiner, Brentwood (Tenn.), 6-2
Joiner made a great impact for the state champion Bruins as they won 60 straight matches to finish 60-1. She recorded a team-high 529 kills (3.3) and blocked 72 shots.

OH - Brooke Andersen, Lake Country Lutheran (Hartland, Wis.), 5-11
Anderson led the Lightning to a 37-win season with 487 kills (4.4), 65 aces, 263 digs (2.4) and 310 serve receptions with 21 errors.

OH - Elissa Barbosa, Reagan (San Antonio), 5-10
Barbosa was named first team all-district as Reagan won 36 times. She returned 625 serves, recorded 513 digs (4.0), blocked 49 shots, served 94.6 percent (37 aces) and killed 477 balls (3.8).

OH/DS - Megan Miller, Alexandria-Monroe (Alexandria, Ind.), 5-7
Don't let the 5-7 stat fool you. Miller is a big-time hitter with 626 kills (5.5) and 100 aces out of 425 serves. She also blocked 26 shots, had 447 digs (4.0) and took on 559 serve receptions.



OH - Allison Martinez, Westridge (Pasadena, Calif.), 5-11
Martinez averaged 5.2 kills per set on 1,039 kill attempts. She also led the 23-8 Tigers with 74 serves (90.4 percent) and 142 digs.

OH - Claire Hoffman, Marist (Eugene, Ore.), 6-1
Hoffman led Marist to an 18-6 mark and averaged 4.9 kills (465) in the process. She also had 283 digs (3.0) and returned 384 serves. She was named second team 5A all-state.

MB/OH - Thayer Hall, Dorman (Roebuck, S.C.), 6-2
Hall led Dorman in kills (475, 4.8), aces (53), blocks (44) and was second in digs (272) and serve receptions (256) as the Cavs went 31-6 and deep into the postseason.

S - Claire Mosher, Waterloo (Wis.), 5-11
Mosher was the quarterback of the AAA state title-winning team, recording 992 assists, 156 digs and 41 service aces during the regular season.

S - Erin O'Leary, Novi (Mich.), 5-10
O'Leary certainly lived up to the preseason praise as she was the sparkplug for Novi's 54-6-1 season and runner-up state finish. She averaged better than 10 assists per set, as well as three digs and kills.

S - Derry Costigan, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), 6-0
Costigan averaged 9.9 assists per set in leading the Raiders to the 7A state title.



S - Kaylee Morris, Harrison (Kennesaw, Ga.) 5-7
Morris averaged 9.9 assists (1,163) and Harrison went deep in playoffs and finished the season 45-6.

S - Kinsley Tingelhoff, Wahoo (Neb.), 5-7
Wahoo (31-5) finished fourth in the state as Tinglehoff dished out 1,113 assists (11.0). She added 225 digs and 43 aces.

S - Haley Vaughn, Crawford (Texas), 5-9
An all-state setter and District 2A Newcomer of the Year, Crawford registered 1,038 assists as the Pirates won 30 matches. She also had 60 acres.

S - Ansleigh Daily, Bayside Academy (Daphne, Ala.), 5-6
Daily dished out 1,374 assists and recorded 58 aces as Bayside won its 13th-straight state title.

S - Ella may Powell, Fayetteville (Ark.), 6-0
Powell recorded a team-high 847 assists, 243 kills, 285 digs and 41 aces. She was named NWA Media's co-Newcomer of the Year with teammate Haley Warner.

S - Chelsey Lockey, Eaton (Colo.), 5-7
Big sister Courtney (state 3A POY) needed someone to get her the ball and Chelsey did just that with 871 assists (9.1) as Eaton went 28-1 and won the state 3A title. She also had 74 aces (95.1 percent), 227 digs and only 12 miscues on 218 serve receptions.



A-A - Renee Shultz, Bishop Shanahan (Downingtown, Pa.), 5-10
It was an impressive first-year impact as Shultz led the Eagles to the 3A semifinals and a 22-win season. For her efforts, she was named all-state.

A-A - Taliyah Flores, Papillion-LaVista South (Papillion, Neb.), 5-8
Flores served 97.9 percent with 41 aces, returned 554 serves, had 378 digs (3.5) and 355 kills (3.7) for a 25-win team.

L/DS - Kylie Baumert, Twin Falls (Idaho), 5-4
Baumert was first team all-area as Twin Falls reached the state semifinals. She recorded 45 serves (93.5 percent), had 571 serve receptions and a state-leading 628 (5.3) digs.
