It was a good run, but Bishop Verot unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinal Newman Crusaders.

Bishop Verot might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Cardinal Newman: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 31-29.

Caroline Hathaway paced Bishop Verot's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hathaway got some help from Sidney Blackwood and her 15 assists. Hathaway was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Bishop Verot's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Cardinal Newman, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Bishop Verot didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Cardinal Gibbons on the 30th. As for Cardinal Newman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Neumann on the 30th.
