Game recap: Litchfield High School Football Team defeats Roxana

LITCHFIELD, Ill. - Roxana (Ill.) fell 27-8 to Litchfield (Ill.).

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Purple Panthers led 14-0 at the half.

Litchfield expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored once in the quarter on a passing touchdown.

Roxana's only touchdown came on a 21-yard pass from Chance Foss to Charlie Sheets in the fourth quarter.

The Purple Panthers has struggled this season, allowing 36.6 points per game. However, Litchfield's defense dug in and limited the Shells well below their season average of 23.2 points per game.



The victory will ease some of the sting of Litchfield's close 20-18 loss to Roxana last season.

In a South Central game next week Litchfield (3-3) takes on Pana, and Roxana (1-5) will go up against Gillespie also in a South Central game.
