Soccer Game Preview: New Trier vs. Vernon Hills

The New Trier Trevians will face off against the Vernon Hills Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Trier's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

New Trier is headed into Tuesday's game following a draw, the team's first since April 14. Neither they nor Lake Forest could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Vernon Hills' good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 9-0 to Libertyville. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, Vernon Hills' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

New Trier's draw makes their record 18-1-3 this season. As for Vernon Hills, they now have a losing record of 6-7-2.

New Trier beat Vernon Hills 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Trevians repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
