Volleyball Recap: Piper Fryer Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Calhoun + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grafton, Notre Dame was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Calhoun Red Devils 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Fighting Irish have posted since October 28, 2024.

Notre Dame got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Piper Fryer out in front who had 26 digs and nine kills. With that strong performance, Fryer is now averaging an impressive 12.1 assists per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Gum, who had 16 digs, eight kills, five aces, and two blocks.

Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Notre Dame wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Ritchie County on the 6th. As for Calhoun, they will head out to face off against St. Marys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
