Basketball Recap: Cowanesque Valley Takes a Loss

Cowanesque Valley lost against North Penn-Mansfield back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cowanesque Valley Indians were dealt a 76-42 loss at the hands of the North Penn-Mansfield Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while the Tigers are ranked 176th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Penn-Mansfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Shaw, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and three steals. Shaw has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Harer, who went 8 for 12 en route to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Cowanesque Valley's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for North Penn-Mansfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Cowanesque Valley has already played their next matchup (against North Penn-Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Penn-Mansfield has already played their next game, a 61-50 victory against Towanda on the 14th.
