Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets vs. South Effingham Mustangs

After both having extra time off, the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets and the South Effingham Mustangs will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Southeast Bulloch has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Southeast Bulloch's tournament run continued when they took on Trinity Christian Academy last Saturday. Southeast Bulloch fell 61-50 to Trinity Christian Academy.

Meanwhile, South Effingham came up short against Bryan County last Saturday and fell 80-69. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now lost four in a row.

Southeast Bulloch will need focus on slowing down Will Harlin, one of several South Effingham players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 of 16 on his way to 18 points. What's more, Harlin also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Hayden Lloyd was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points.

Even though they lost, South Effingham was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Southeast Bulloch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for South Effingham, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Southeast Bulloch came up short against South Effingham when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 54-46. Can Southeast Bulloch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
