Basketball Recap: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. Robinson Knights
The Tampa Bay Tech Titans struggled with assists on Friday (the Robinson Knights had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tampa Bay Tech suffered a tough 60-38 defeat at the hands of the Knights. Tampa Bay Tech has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Tampa Bay Tech still got an impressive performance from Azjannie Culberth, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Culberth is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalese Salter, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Jennie Gutman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Robinson, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 23 rebounds. Gutman is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Alivia Lewis, who scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Tampa Bay Tech has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Robinson, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-8.
Tampa Bay Tech will take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Blake is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Robinson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Terriers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hillsborough is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
