Basketball Recap: Village Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

A well-balanced attack led Village Christian Academy over Fayetteville O in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. The Village Christian Academy Knights enjoyed a cozy 52-37 win over the Fayetteville O Outliers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Fayetteville O had strong showings from Samuel Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, and Anthony Harris, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 43.2% of Fayetteville O's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points.

Village Christian Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Fayetteville O, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Village Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Freedom Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fayetteville O, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Grovemont at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
