Volleyball Recap: Madison Takes a Loss

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the O'Neill Eagles. The Dragons were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2016.

Madison's offense was headlined by Wedy Atanacio and Sophie Cienfuegos, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Bella Duinkerken and her nine assists. Finally, Cienfuegos was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

O'Neill can attribute much of their success to Serena Chavez, who had 11 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Chavez has posted over her last six contests.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 5-26. As for O'Neill, their record now sits at 14-17.

Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for O'Neill, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Wayne on the 28th.
