Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Smiths Station

The Southside Panthers will kick their season off against the Smiths Station Panthers on Friday. Kickoff is scheduled at 6:00 p.m.

If Smiths Station beats Southside with four goals on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Smiths Station blew past Lee-Scott Academy 4-1 on Monday. Haley Ciccarello had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Panthers.

The win made it two in a row for Smiths Station and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

As for Southside, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they had a stellar season and finished 23-6.

Southside came up short against Smiths Station in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, falling 4-2. Can Southside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
