Softball Recap: Whitmire Takes a Loss

If Whitmire was riding high fresh off their 17-0 takedown of McCormick on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Clinton Red Devils by a score of 10-8 on Monday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Whitmire's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Clinton, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-8-1.

Coming up, Whitmire will be playing at home against Abbeville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will host Eau Claire at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils are facing the Shamrocks at the right time seeing as the Shamrocks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
