Basketball Recap: Nicholas County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Nicholas County won the last time they faced Summers County, and Maverick Smith did his part to make sure it happened again. The Nicholas County Grizzlies came out on top against the Summers County Bobcats by a score of 81-71 on Saturday thanks in part to Smith, who went 9 for 13 en route to 28 points and seven rebounds. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games.

Another player making a difference was Trey Stump, who posted 17 points and seven assists. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Nicholas County moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Summers County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Nicholas County will take on Oak Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summers County has already played their next matchup (against James Monroe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
