Baseball Game Preview: Freeport Falcons vs. York Wildcats

The Freeport Falcons will challenge the York Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Freeport: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while York has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.

Freeport lost 8-1 to Lake Region on Wednesday.

Freeport saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Bolduc, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, York faced Lake Region in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Lakers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 29, 2024.

York got a massive performance out of Bradley Carr, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Carr a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Joyce, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
