Sierra Vista was handed an eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Duarte Falcons 2-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in March.

Aleena Mora was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sierra Vista has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Duarte, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-10 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will face off against Garey at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Duarte, they will challenge Baldwin Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
