Football Recap: Saint Francis Catholic Academy Wolves vs. First Academy Eagles
Saint Francis Catholic Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the First Academy Eagles and fell 34-6. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.
Jake Long threw for 33 yards and one TD. Nolan Jones was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards and one score.
First Academy's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Henry Purvis, who threw for 89 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 69 yards on only six carries. Those 69 rushing yards gave Purvis a new career-high. Another receiver making a difference was Rayce Teate, who picked up 49 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
