Basketball Recap: Flint River Academy Takes a Loss

Flint River Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 67-19 loss at the hands of the Rock Springs Christian Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Eagles are ranked 171st).

When it comes to explaining why Flint River Academy lost, don't look at Cole Riner. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 boards. Riner has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

Flint River Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Rock Springs Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Flint River Academy and Rock Springs Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Wildcats see the court they'll take on LaGrange Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Rock Springs Christian Academy, their break will end when they face Strong Rock Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2026.
