Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Pioneers vs. Bedford Bulldogs

Trinity hasn't had much luck against Bedford recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pioneers will challenge the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. Trinity's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Bedford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Trinity beat Nashua South 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Purple Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Bedford hadn't done well against Concord recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bulldogs never let the Crimson Tide get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Bulldogs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 30, 2024 (when they won 14-5).

James Gilbert was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jayson Topf, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

The win made it two in a row for Bedford and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Trinity, their record now sits at 5-1.

Trinity might still be hurting after the 10-3 defeat they got from Bedford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
