Widefield proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by four) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sand Creek Scorpions, sneaking past 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Gladiators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lizzy Brown and Autumn Ibarra scored all three of Widefield's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Widefield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sand Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Widefield will host The Vanguard School at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sand Creek, they will challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
