Basketball Recap: Crete-Monee Takes a Loss

Crete-Monee lost against Rich Township back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Crete-Monee Warriors opened the new year with a less-than-successful 48-35 loss to the Rich Township Raptors. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Raptors are ranked 168th).

Crete-Monee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Rich Township, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crete-Monee won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bishop McNamara at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rich Township, they will head out to face off against Thornton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
