Recap: Chesnee Eagles vs. Greenville Tech Charter Warriors
There's no place like home for the Chesnee Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against Greenville Tech Charter by a score of 37-28 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Chesnee, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Pearl Holloway, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liana Kreydich, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Greenville Tech Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophie Chasteen, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Josey Stefanik who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Chasteen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Chesnee's win bumped their record up to 3-18. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chesnee will take on Blacksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blacksburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Chesnee likes a good challenge. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greer Middle College at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Greer Middle College is ranked 238th, while Greenville Tech Charter is ranked 233rd).
