Baseball Game Preview: Bedford Bisons vs. Penn Cambria Panthers

The Bedford Bisons will venture away from home to challenge the Penn Cambria Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bedford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Philipsburg-Osceola hit Bedford with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bisons fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 8-7. The Bisons have struggled against the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Owen Tedrow was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Owen Taylor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Penn Cambria's offense. They lost 10-0 to Huntingdon on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Penn Cambria and nudges their season record down to 8-4. As for Bedford, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bedford has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Penn Cambria struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Bedford took their victory against Penn Cambria when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bisons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
