The Neshaminy Skins will head out to face off against the Council Rock South Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Neshaminy 2.6, Council Rock South 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Neshaminy barely beat Archbishop Ryan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Skins were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Raiders and Ragdolls on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Skins, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Jared Kligerman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Sassano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danny Nocito, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Neshaminy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop Ryan only posted an OBP of .286.
Council Rock South came out on top against Council Rock North on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Golden Hawks narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indians 6-4.
Billy O'Neill was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Nemeth, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Neshaminy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Council Rock South, their record now sits at 7-5.
Council Rock South's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Neshaminy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. It's a different story for Council Rock South, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Neshaminy's hitters?
Neshaminy skirted past Council Rock South 7-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
