Baseball Recap: Ludlow Beats Dayton for Their Third Straight Win

Ludlow put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dayton Greendevils a 10-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Parker Trenkamp was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Trenkamp was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Ludlow let Jackson Mays and Chris Perkins run wild. Mays scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Perkins scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Deakon Reed, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Ludlow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dayton only posted an OBP of .222.

Ludlow's record is now 3-0. As for Dayton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ludlow Panthers duke it out with Calvary Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary Christian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Dayton, they will host Heritage Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
