Baseball Game Preview: James Kenan Tigers vs. Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs

The James Kenan Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. James Kenan has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

It was a proper cat-fight when James Kenan took on East Duplin on Wednesday. James Kenan lost 11-0 to East Duplin. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Wallace-Rose Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Southwest Onslow, falling 13-6.

Wallace-Rose Hill saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Gavin, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Gavin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another was Reese Buckner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

James Kenan's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

James Kenan couldn't quite finish off Wallace-Rose Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can James Kenan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
