Baseball Game Preview: Wenatchee Panthers vs. Eastmont Wildcats

Wenatchee is 2-8 against Eastmont since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Wenatchee will head out on the road to challenge Eastmont at 3:30 p.m. Eastmont took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Wenatchee, who comes in off a win.

Wenatchee lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Ephrata, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Wenatchee's pitchers stepped up to hand Ephrata a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Nolan Godfrey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Wenatchee got a big performance out of James Butler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Butler has posted since back in March of 2024. Matthew Butler was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Eastmont might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Bothell who claimed the real prize. Eastmont came up short against Bothell, falling 15-4.

Eastmont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyse Lewallen, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Eastmont's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wenatchee, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Wenatchee suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Eastmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Wenatchee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
