Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Starts Season with Win at Home

Mount Calvary Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Life Christian Academy 79-27.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jentzen Wade, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Those 20 points gave Wade a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Howell, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards.

New Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mount Calvary Christian Academy will venture away from home to take on Pitt County P at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Life Christian Academy, they will take on Greater Vision Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th.
