Recap: Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars vs. Culver Community Cavaliers
The Lakeland Christian Academy Cougars were the 44-37 winner over the Culver Community Cavaliers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lakeland Christian Academy had to suffer through a rough 61-31 loss at the hands of Culver Community. Lakeland Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-11.
Lakeland Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Martin, who scored 17 points. Martin scored a full 54.8% of Lakeland Christian Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Rice, who scored 11 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Lakeland Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Culver Community, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland Christian Academy will square off against Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Hamilton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. As for Culver Community, they will head out on the road to face off against North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Miami focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
