Baseball Recap: Osage Takes a Loss

Osage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Buffalo Bison. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Chris Nicholson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Osage's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Buffalo, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-23.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osage will venture away from home to challenge Crocker on Saturday. As for Buffalo, they will challenge Early at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
