Football Recap: Tombstone Find Success

Tombstone's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Desert Christian Eagles 14-13.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Xavier Lopez and DeShawyne Stewart. Lopez rushed for 114 yards and one score while picking up 7.1 yards per carry while Stewart rushed for 150 yards. Tombstone is 2-1 when Lopez posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-6 otherwise.

Despite the defeat, Desert Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brock Payne threw for 158 yards and a pair of TDs.

Tombstone's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Desert Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

As of now, neither Tombstone nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
