Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 24-6 to the West Valley Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 44-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Central Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Alex Johnston.
West Valley had a senior duo take command as Logan Rasmussen picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Cooper Staup rushed for 134 yards. Those 134 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Staup.
Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Central Valley will head out on the road to challenge Yreka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yreka is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28.3 points per game this season.
