Basketball Recap: Gateway Charter Griffins vs. East Lee County Jaguars
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Gateway Charter Griffins's strategy against the East Lee County Jaguars on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Gateway Charter blew the Jaguars out of the water with a 51-12 final score. With Gateway Charter ahead 32-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Ellie Morin went supernova for Gateway Charter, scoring 16 points. Alisea Doan was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Gateway Charter now has a winning record of 11-10. As for East Lee County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Gateway Charter will be playing at home against the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Lee County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Raiders on February 5th.
