Baseball Game Preview: Johnsonville Flashes vs. Waccamaw Warriors

The Johnsonville Flashes will head out on the road to face off against the Waccamaw Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnsonville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Friday, Johnsonville needed a bit of extra time to put away Lake View. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wild Gators 5-4.

The team relied heavily on Landyn Cribb, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Eaddy, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Waccamaw beat Dillon 5-2 on Tuesday.

Corrin Green was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Christian Galasso was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Johnsonville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Waccamaw, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Waccamaw's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Johnsonville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Waccamaw, though, as they've only averaged .233. Will they be able to contain Johnsonville's hitters?

Everything went Johnsonville's way against Waccamaw in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Johnsonville made off with a 17-7 victory. Will the Flashes repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
