Softball Recap: South Beloit Comes Up Short

South Beloit lost against Earlville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. South Beloit fell just short of Earlville by a score of 4-3.

Taniyah Crawford and Macey Lineman did some serious damage despite the final result: Crawford scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Lineman went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave Crawford a new career-high.

South Beloit's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Earlville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

South Beloit and Earlville will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time South Beloit sees the field they'll take on Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on April 1. As for Earlville, their break will end when they face West Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on the 31st.
