Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Takes a Loss

Mount Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 68-44 to the Lone Oak Buffaloes. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 64-25 to the Buffaloes when the teams met back in January of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mount Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Lone Oak, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mount Vernon will take on rival Rains at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lone Oak is set to challenge their familiar foe Prairiland at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
